Xolani Mhlanga
CEO, BBusSc, MBA
Xolani, an Oakfields College lecturer for five years, holds a Bachelor of Business Science (Finance Honours) from the University of Cape Town (UCT). After graduating in 2011, he worked as a fund accountant at State Street, the world’s second-largest custodian bank, before transitioning to filmmaking, bringing his financial expertise with him. In 2022, he completed his MBA at the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), with research on “Commercially viable distribution channels for South African feature films.” Xolani aims to pitch projects for the economic development of the film industry to key stakeholders. As a filmmaker, he has directed multiple short films, including The Sphinx (2019), selected for the 2020 Tokyo and London Lift-Off Film Festivals. He is also CEO of Cino Media, a media company working on a marketing campaign for TuksSport. Xolani believes that monumental change requires a monumental effort.
